Seniors over 55 Qualify for a Discount on Auto Insurance in Pennsylvania

If all named policyholders on your auto insurance are 55 years of age or older it is possibe to qualify for a minimum discount of five percent on your automobile insurance. Pennsylvania law requires insurance companies to provide at least a 5% discount for each vehicle on a private passenger automobile policy under which all named policyholders are 55 years of age or older and have successfully completed an approved driver improvement course. 75 Pa.C.S.A section 1799.2 mandates the discount. Individuals must take an approved course every three years to remain eligible for the discount. Drivers can lose the discount if they are in a chargeable accident or are convicted of a moving violation or DUI related offense.
